How long does it take to install the Knowledge Pulse?
About five minutes. After registering, you will receive an email. If you are using Microsoft Windows (XP or Vista), you need only click on the download link. After that, follow the Windows Installation Assistant until the Knowledge Pulse registration window appears. Then enter three pieces of information included in the email you received: user name, password, web address of your course. That's it.

I don't know much about computers and installing software. I'd like to check whether I'm doing the right thing during each step.
You can download a detailed printable manual (as a pdf file) here:

Why Microlearning?
Because daily work barely leaves time for further education.
Because most of the things you hear, you tend to forget quickly.
The "Knowledge Pulse" is a small program that facilitates learning in passing - casually, unobtrusively, effectively.
Knowledge is brought to mind. Information sticks in your memory.

Why is the application called "Knowledge Pulse?
The English term for "pacemaker" is "cardiac pulse generator".
Thus, the "Knowledge Pulse Generator" is a knowledge pacemaker.
A stream of micro-impulses keeps the learning process going while you hardly notice.

I finished installing the Knowledge Pulse. When will I get my first micro-flashcard?
The Knowledge Pulse works like a screensaver. The next flashcard will appear when you stop working at your PC for longer than X minutes ( = the time specified in the settings). You can close the flashcard at any time, should it happen to be inconvenient. The frequency of the flashcards can be customized individually.

I finished installing the Knowledge Pulse but instead of getting the first flashcard, I see the error message "You seem to be offline." What do I do?
Your Internet connection was probably suspended.
The KP Widget fetches the next flashcard from the server and also saves your answers there.
Reconnect to the Internet. The next flashcard will appear when you stop using your PC for longer than 1 minute.
